Erica A. Rentz

LPC, NCC, GAPSC

As a Licensed Professional Counselor based in Georgia, my roots trace back to São Paulo, Brazil, where I initially gained my professional credentials. Fluent in English, Portuguese, and Spanish, my journey in the U.S. has enriched my understanding of the world’s social and cultural diversity. This experience underlines the challenges and mental health implications of adapting to new cultures.

Holding a Master’s degree in Clinical Counseling in Mental Health from Adams State University, Colorado, my background encompasses clinical psychology, psychodrama, and group facilitation, with a specific focus on hospital psychology and grief counseling for individuals and families. Additionally, I am certified in prenatal childbirth education, catering to the needs of families and expectant mothers.

In the realm of Transpersonal Psychology and Relaxation Techniques, I have honed skills in deep relaxation methods over two years, aiming to alleviate traumas and resolve profound conflicts. My therapeutic approach centers on trauma, employing techniques such as EMDR, mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and hypnosis. As a practitioner of Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), I integrate Positive Psychology concepts and coaching techniques into my practice.

My experience extends to aiding the recovery process for adolescents, children, individuals, and families, enhancing communication and parenting skills, and fostering family unity. I have also led groups for teenagers and adults.

In Atlanta, I studied with Alejandro Navarrete, Psy.D., LPC, CPCS who taught me the Gottman’s approach for couples’ counseling. Adding to my previous experiences, I also incorporated other models where I consider my approach eclectic.

Driven by a desire to support and empower groups, families, couples, and teenagers in counseling, I strive to help my patients achieve emotional equilibrium. My blend of skills and techniques cultivates a unique, dynamic, and transformative counseling style. Clients often commend my ability to forge quick connections and instill confidence within the therapeutic relationship.
